Comments:
I wanted a bike that would be more fun than my thrasher straight bar used for commuting and exercise. This bike makes my short commute disappear, and adds the pleasure that was missing in my attempts at longer rides. It's stretching out my distance and it just accelerates and climbs so much better than my other bike that it's like losing ten or fifteen years off my advancing age. I had to mod it slightly to make it work for me: I ditched the gravel tires (though I do ride some well groomed dirt roads), and now use 28mm road tires; I've switched seats and changed the angle of the bit that attaches the handlebars to the fork. With those changes it picked up speed and became enormously more comfortable than stock. Which is to say -- Landry's had to order this from the factory for me; it wasn't an in stock bike. So my only complaint is that we couldn't have measured all this out and pre-ordered it, so that I didn't have to (in effect) pay twice for some of the bits and pieces. Other than that, just a smile-a-day bike.

Comments:
The Shimano 105 compact shifting system is so smooth, the bike is ultra fast and comfortable for long rides, and the versatility of what can be put on the bike and where you can ride it is phenominal. The entire CrossRip series by Trek is superb.
