R5 has one job-get to the top, fast. But for all the glory and fanfare that comes with a summit finish, they're rarely the only climb of the day. And while a race isn't usually won on a descent, they can certainly be lost. A climbing bike that can't carve a hairpin is a bit like a cup of decaf coffee. This is the fourth iteration of the R5, and while weight and stiffness have varied over the years, the handling, poise, and unmatched prowess on a descent have been consistent since day one.

The Caledonia-5 is the bike we keep reaching for when we know the odometer's going well past the triple-digit mark. Long rides invariably have some smooth tarmac, some junk pavement over backroads, a cutty singletrack connector, and maybe even your own local Strade Bianche sector. So we built a bike that could take on all of them, do it well, and fit fenders in case the ominous clouds turn into a downpour 130km into your day.

So we built a bike that could take on all of them, do it well, and fit fenders in case the ominous clouds turn into a downpour 130km into your day. We don’t see road bikes as fragile machines meant only for putting watts into and receiving speed from. They’re an extension of our soul, of the way we want to see our worlds, and the lives we want to live. Sometimes that means cutting across park grass, and sometimes it’s seeing where that dirt road off to the left leads you. The Caledonia-5 is a bike for the modern road rider. Aero Cable Management The Cervelo frame, fork, handlebars, and associated components are designed to hide brake and shift control lines (mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic) from the wind for improved aerodynamics, without sacrificing usability or performance. Performance Fit The Caledonia’s integrated stem and two bearing cap options allow for stacks ranging between an aggressive 7mm and a relaxed 22mm without the use of spacers. With a wider fit coordinate range (stack) of 580mm to 687mm, the Caledonia can be as low as a slammed R3 or taller than our tallest C3. All while looking and being seamlessly fast in the wind. Integrated Accessory Mounts Integrated mounts enable the use of fenders, lights, and computers without compromising the aerodynamics or structure of your bike. The built-in mount systems provide a simple and clean-looking solution in a lighter weight frame. - Cervelo carbon frame and fork - Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 drivetrain - 4iiii Precision dual-sided power meter - ENVE SES 3.4 AR Disc wheels - Cervelo carbon cockpit - Ceramic Speed bottom bracket

R5 has one job - get to the top, fast. - Faster in Every Direction The new R5 frame is 130g lighter than the previous model—a 16% reduction from an already-light frame. And while aerodynamics weren't a focus with this frame the way they would be on an S5 or P5, bringing the cables inside reduced drag by 25g. - Darker Than Night, Lighter Than Air The color black may absorb all light, but Cervélo Five Black is anything but heavy. This ultra-minimal graphics and paint package results in a frame that's significantly lighter—they'll never even see you coming. - Less Stiff, Still Fast The R5 is stiff, but not too stiff—the Goldilocks of climbing bikes if you will. Poise, stability, and power transfer feel “just right" and keep you fresh and ready to take on the road ahead. - SRAM Integrated Power Red and Force builds include Quarq Zero power meters integrated into the crank. The integration of a power meter results in better stiffness, lighter weight, and improved accuracy over aftermarket solutions—and the DZero delivers power measurement accurate to +/- 1.5%, even in variable temperatures.

A NEW BIKE FOR CLASSIC RIDES We don't see road bikes as delicate machines meant only for putting watts into and receiving speed from. They're an extension of our soul, of the way we want to see our worlds, and the lives we want to live. Sometimes that means cutting across park grass, and sometimes it's seeing where that dirt road off to the left leads you. The Caledonia-5 is a bike for the modern road rider. The Caledonia is the bike we keep reaching for when we know the odometer's going well past the triple-digit mark. We developed the Caledonia-5 in collaboration with our World Tour riders to satisfy the need for a dedicated cobbles bike. Faster handling isn't necessarily better-we engineered the handling based on the specific use-case. In this case, it's Roubaix. Roubaix is harder on bikes than any other race on the calendar, and there's zero margin for error. We increased the rear center, lowered the BB, and increased the trail. The handling is still fast, but we've added stability. Modern road riders are looking for bikes to handle long-distance, high pace, no limits, and offer maximum fun. By placing lower modulus carbon in key areas to mitigate the brittleness of hi-mod fiber-the Caledonia delivers performance, comfort, and speed. Oh, and you can fit a 34mm tire in there. Or 31mm with fenders.

Caledonia is a bike for the way riders ride. It’s not a Grand Tour bike, where the skinniest of chubby tires rub the stays, and it’s not a gravel bike butting up against a 1989 MB-1. It’s a bike for the rides that kick off at the cafe, hammer up thoroughfares to get out of town, wind through chip-seal backroads, take that cutty dirt road that links up to the base of the mountain, and then scream downhill back toward home. Caledonia doesn’t fit in a box nicely, and we like it that way. It was conceived on our Thursday night rides—routes that often play fast and loose with 'road ride'. As we tried to stuff bigger tires into our R5s and streamline our Asperos, a new kind of bike was born. Removable FDM Our bolt-on front derailleur mount is made from high strength aluminum alloy and attaches to the frame with two countersunk screws. This allows for easy replacement in the event of damage and enables you to adapt to new standards as they become available or remove the front derailleur mount completely if you choose a 1x system. Integrated Accessory Mounts Integrated mounts enable the use of fenders, lights, and computers without compromising the aerodynamics or structure of your bike. The C3’s increased tire clearance, a lower bottom bracket and longer chainstays inspire confidence on mixed surfaces while delivering a longer, more comfortable day in the saddle. Speaking of confidence, the C3’s top-of-the-line disc brakes deliver exceptional control without sacrificing performance. Shimano's 11-speed 105 drivetrain provides trusted, reliable performance, while Mavic's Aksium wheels are quick to accelerate and stiff for confident handling on rough roads. Features: - BBright: This asymmetrical 79mm bottom bracket standard yields stiffer and lighter frames and crank systems - Future-proof cable management: Ensures your frame is compatible with all current and future derailleur and brake systems - Reduced-friction BB guide: Significantly reduces cable friction in the bottom bracket, which means smoother shifting, easier setup and longer service intervals - Carbon dropouts: Tough, compression molded dropouts save weight with no sacrifice in strength compared to traditional metal dropouts - Evolved steerer design: Applies the diameters and taper designs that best suit each model to produce the best handling - Squoval: Unique tube shapes that combine the attributes of a square and an oval to achieve and ideal balance of stiffness, weight, and aerodynamics

Caledonia doesn't fit in a box nicely, and we like it that way. It was conceived on our Thursday night rides-routes that often play fast and loose with 'road ride.' Modern road riders are looking for bikes to handle long-distance, high pace, no limits, and offer maximum fun - the Caledonia delivers performance, comfort, and speed. Oh, and you can fit a 34mm tire in there. Or 31mm with fenders. - Removable FDM Our bolt-on front derailleur mount is made from high-strength aluminum alloy and attaches to the frame with two countersunk screws. This allows for easy replacement in the event of damage but also enables you to adapt to new standards as they become available or remove the front derailleur mount completely if you choose a 1x system. - Integrated Accessory Mounts Integrated mounts enable the use of fenders, lights, and computers without compromising the aerodynamics or structure of your bike. The built-in mount systems provide a simple and clean-looking solution.
